Mayoral Candidate Keith Wilson Is Indefatigable

Willamette Week  | By Sophie Peel | August 21, 2024

Keith Wilson is a serious man, running a serious business, whose campaign to become Portland’s next mayor is centered on the most serious problem in the city: homelessness. Wilson has unlocked $100,000 in matching taxpayer funds for his campaign, making him one of just three mayoral candidates, along with City Commissioners Carmen Rubio and Rene Gonzalez, to qualify so far. A relentless campaigner, he received more individual contributions last month than any other candidate. Paige Richardson, a longtime political consultant, says she’s “never seen anybody who can get as much done, or do as many things.” Read more...

Get to know Portland mayoral candidate Keith Wilson

As I listened to Keith Wilson give a speech at Bike Happy Hour last night it occurred to me his life has been sort of like Forrest Gump. He’s got an interesting and diverse background and set of life experiences you’d never expect from a trucking company CEO.

If you knew that his company, Titan Freight Systems, runs and all-electric fleet and that just before coming to the event last night he gave invited testimony on decarbonization in the freight industry to the State of Washington Transportation Commission, or that he was once so poor he spent nights in LaGuardia Airport… read more

PORTLAND, Oregon — Every time you go to a store or a restaurant, what you're buying, eating and using was most likely delivered on a gas-powered vehicle. Those in the trucking industry may say, 'If you bought it, a truck brought it.'

"That's exactly right, 80% of goods are moved by a truck," said Keith Wilson, CEO of Milwaukie-based Titan Freight Systems. "It could be knock down desks, it could be cleaning supplies for our hotels and hospitality, it could be printed paper products." … read more

Innovators: Titan Freight exec plans to bridge the divide to zero-emissions

Aaron Huff | February 1, 2021

Titan Freight Systems in 2010 set an ambitious goal to reduce fleet emissions by 20% within a decade.

The Portland, Oregon-based company’s Vision 2020 plan had metrics tied to fuel efficiency gains. To execute on those metrics, Titan replaced most of the 2007 EPA Tier 2 and older engine emission trucks in its fleet and invested hundreds of thousands in aftermarket products that included engine idle shut off devices, cab fairings, trailer side skirts, wheel covers and technology for monitoring driver speeds and behaviors… read more
